m. James E. Eads in December 1836, thirteenth of 14 children of Robert
and Mary Rankin. Entered NSDAR in January 1897 as a Real Daughter.
Charter member David Reese Chapter, Oxford, Mississippi.
During the Revolution her father, Robert Rankin (1746-1840) fought with
North Carolina troops un Gen. Rutherford, and was actively engaged in
Battle
of Yorktown, being present at surrender of Cornwallis. He was placed on
pension roll of Gibson Co., Tennessee. A sketch of Mrs. Eads' life was
in DAR MAGAZINE, April 1907.
